I occasionally watch Lie to Me and at the moment, I really wish I could confer with the Lightman Group. I think y'all know I'm a huge crime buff. One of my favorite blogs is Women in Crime Ink, and yesterday I read an article by Dr. Lillian Glass entitled Body Language Does Not Lie in the Casey Anthony Trial. I went off in search of photos and found one I can't decipher. My first thought was "What a strange expression," and I haven't really gotten past that point. Will you tell me what you see?

Okay, I only have vague memories of this case. But I've now read a few webpages about it. Here are my impressions:

The child was adorable. How could anyone kill her? ANYONE. God!

How could the mother not have reported that baby missing? I know that reporting a child missing isn't proof that you are not the kidnapper/murderer, but not reporting her missing is just... inexplicable. If she'd been my baby, the moment I thought she'd gone missing people down in Florida would have heard my screams!

I can't think about this any longer, or I'll have nightmares tonight.

I don't even like children and I can't conceive of anyone wanting to kill her. And it's obvious her grandparents simply adored her; if Casey didn't want to be a mom, all she had to do was leave Caylee with them. I think that's what bothers me the most, the killing was absolutely senseless.

In reading the thread Maddie mentioned above, I saw someone write that "Zanny" (the name of the mythical babysitter/kidnapper) was slang for tranquilizers in his/her part of the world. I wonder if that's what happened (although the duct tape found with the body makes this questionable), that the mom wanted her child sound asleep so that she could leave her and go party, and when she got back she realized that she'd administered a fatal overdose.
