Are there any Lie to Me fans seeing this?

I occasionally watch Lie to Me and at the moment, I really wish I could confer with the Lightman Group. I think y'all know I'm a huge crime buff. One of my favorite blogs is Women in Crime Ink, and yesterday I read an article by Dr. Lillian Glass entitled Body Language Does Not Lie in the Casey Anthony Trial. I went off in search of photos and found one I can't decipher. My first thought was "What a strange expression," and I haven't really gotten past that point. Will you tell me what you see?

Date: 2011-01-26 06:33 pm (UTC)I'd say I'm fairly familiar with the case. I first learned about when I still watched Dr. Phil and there was a segment about the protesters in front of the Anthony household (this was before Caylee's body was found). I also know Dr. G did the autopsy and I believe that if she says it was murder, it was. I also saw some pictures (this was months ago, and I don't recall the circumstances, but I'm pretty sure this was on tv) where someone claimed Caylee was afraid of her mother. I went through the photos downloaded from Casey's phone yesterday (they're on the Orlando Sentinel's website (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/caylee-anthony/), but not all would load. I got to around #95 when the program sent me all the way back to #1. This happened twice, so I think the problem's on their end.) Anyway, I was surprised she had photos of her child on her phone. I did notice that Caylee did not look sad or worried in the ones I saw.
Do I think Casey killed her kid? Yep. Do I think the photos prove it? No, although they strongly indicate she was an immature mother and much more interested in her friends and in partying than staying home to rear her child.
The whole made up kidnapped by the babysitter thing was fascinating, as was the visit to the theme park with the investigators/journalists/whatever and then have it turn out she hadn't been an employee there for quite some time.
I also think she dated that one young man with an eye toward framing him for murder.
I feel bad for her parents but also feel frustrated with them for continuing to believe/defend their daughter. I think if I were them, I'd say "She's my kid and I have to stick with her, but she did wrong and she needs to pay the consequence."

Date: 2011-01-27 04:02 pm (UTC)As for having pictures of your children on your phone/palm pilot, I think that's pretty normal (unless the device doesn't support pictures), but what surprised me was that Casey Anthony had some because she just didn't seem that interested in her child. If the order of pictures is indicative, the pictures were Caylee were much older than the newer ones (and there were far more of her (Casey) and her friends than there were of Caylee.

The Caylee Anthony thread is here, and be forewarned, it's 141 pages/7006+ posts:

I believe Casey is guilty as well.

Date: 2011-01-27 04:15 pm (UTC)I saw one number yesterday for how much the state has to pay for her trial (defense and prosecution) and I was shocked at the amount. The only postitive spin I can put on it is to say is "it's less than the OJ trial."
I wish I could come up with a way to make ensuring justice more cost effective. I'd make a fortune! (And *still* save the taxpayers money!)

Date: 2011-01-28 09:43 pm (UTC)I believe that Casey and everyone else deserves a fair trial and access to an attorney, but her defense team is milking the tax payers for all they're worth. The judge has warned them more than once. I can't believe the case won't even be heard for another 5 months. It's crazy.

Date: 2011-01-27 07:20 am (UTC)The child was adorable. How could anyone kill her? ANYONE. God!
How could the mother not have reported that baby missing? I know that reporting a child missing isn't proof that you are not the kidnapper/murderer, but not reporting her missing is just... inexplicable. If she'd been my baby, the moment I thought she'd gone missing people down in Florida would have heard my screams!
I can't think about this any longer, or I'll have nightmares tonight.

Date: 2011-01-27 04:22 pm (UTC)In reading the thread Maddie mentioned above, I saw someone write that "Zanny" (the name of the mythical babysitter/kidnapper) was slang for tranquilizers in his/her part of the world. I wonder if that's what happened (although the duct tape found with the body makes this questionable), that the mom wanted her child sound asleep so that she could leave her and go party, and when she got back she realized that she'd administered a fatal overdose.
