For those of you who don't follow her, but want a very funny story, go read https://thebloggess.com/2020/11/10/losing-joy-finding-joy-literally/.

For those of you who do, what are you waiting for if you haven't see it already?

As is my usual morning routine, I just checked my Google news feed and happened to notice the blurb that Princess Charlotte is celebrating her second birthday and that her parents have released a new photograph. I don't particularly care about the Royal family (although I do have great respect for the Queen) but I had to check out the photo because I wanted a better look at the sweater Princess Charlotte is wearing. What I want to know is whether it was hand-knit, if so who knit it, and if the pattern is available on Ravelry.

Today's episode is about Sandra, who once owned an enormous and beautiful mansion in North Carolina that she lost to foreclosure. Matt Paxton is the clean-up specialist on this episode and came up with some lines that made me laugh:

"Sandra is a politician. She wants to make you believe that her way is the way to do it. But then when you push her on 'Well give me the details of your plan," it's empty. There are no details.

She's basically like a Trump hoarder -- there's no substance, it's all talk."

So, there I was on pinterest, goofing off and looking at yarn porn gorgeous shawls knit by better knitters than myself. I saw a nice collection of ways to work the center spine but the explanatory text was in Russian. At least I think it's Russian. Google translate gave me:

. 1. This position is likely to be useful for beginners shalemankam and mischievous. But if and experienced minx will find it interesting, I'll be glad. Just want to say that not discover America, art walk on the network. Somewhere I spied somewhere once seen in the scheme. For what it had not been lost, he decided to assemble the collection all their achievements on the main loop, its variations and provyazyvaniya.

I think I may be a mischievous knitter rather than an experienced minx. The translation of the stitches was even worse, for example, "Three of the audio. This makes a loop where it is not necessary to select, ie drawing should look practically separated."

I was going to make you a holiday card, but nothing will ever beat this.

Enjoy your 4th (after all, everyone has one, no one skips from July 3rd directly to July 5th) and be safe!

What I find amusing is this portrait of Rick Santorum is really a mosaic created from gay porn. I'd credit the artist if I knew his/her identity. A much larger (and NSFW version) can be found here:

On January 1st I saw that [personal profile] eftychia used one of my quotes. This morning I see one of my friends is on cheezburger.

Which reminds me, a video I'm in was posted to youtube -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuOfzprvvwY -- I'm the fat chick briefly interviewed at the 38 second mark.

Tomorrow we're going to The Ark for this group's performance.

As a general rule, I don't like The Onion. This, http://www.avclub.com/articles/college-campus-police-save-students-from-threat-of,62346/, however made me LOL.

Best line? "... signed off with 'Pax vobiscum,' which is Latin for 'I have now won the argument, because: Latin.'”

I often think I'm fairly humorless and I have an aversion to embarrassing people and, therefore, I despise most practical jokes. Having said that, I think this is brilliant.

bloggingchick have you see the ED Sing-a-Longs? Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqfEnP2GMHI (and 93 others). Funny stuff.

Sometimes my brain amuses me. I saw an entry on the craftzine blog for 'flocked fauns,' which of course I read as 'Friends-locked fauns.' They're cute little buggers whether they're friends locked or not. (Click on the image to be taken to the Craft: post.)

After spending far too much time researching PCI data security standards and thinking about what's actually needed to be secure, I've found what is likely to be the best certification program around.

And if you don't believe me, think about this: Heartland Payment Systems disclosed that intruders hacked into the computers it uses to process 100 million payment card transactions per month for 175,000 merchants and that the intruders had access to those systems for multiple weeks during late 2008. This in spite of the fact Heartland was certified as PCI compliant months before the breach occurred.

I have a cousin who keeps sending me joke email. Being a cousin, I can't just send his stuff directly into oblivion, I have to look at first to make sure it isn't anything useful as regards family goings-on, history, etc. And, occasionally (very occasionally), the messages are actually funny. This one isn't so much funny as vaguely amusing and horrifically accurate.

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. - Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder )

Only please don't sent to everyone you know as either my cousin already did, or they've already read it here on LJ.
