Rain was not entirely my friend this week. Or maybe I should say my enemy. We managed to clear a lot of the weeds and unwanted plants in the backyard, enough to fill a dozen yard waste bags. The city will, I hope, have double that when the compost goes out a week from Friday. It can't go out this Friday as Jebra won't be home on Thursday night and I'm too unstable to haul them out myself. Speaking of unstable, I fell while we were working on the area behind the pond and I couldn't get up on my own. I nearly couldn't get up even with his assistance, but he had the idea to shove the folding stool he uses to sit on when he's working low to the ground under my ass when I got up part of the way. From there it wasn't as much of a struggle as he was able to grab me from under my arms and help boost me up. Or maybe that's I could help him by using my leg muscles to reach standing. That did go to prove my thought that I'm really not able to work on the yard without a big and strong adult helping and keeping an eye on me. If you're wondering why I fell, my rolling card was on an uneven surface, it tipped, and both the cart and I hit the ground. I wasn't hurt other than an abrasion on my arm where it hit against the chain link fence.

In book news, I high recommend Remarkably Bright Creatures which we just finished listening to in the car. In my bedtime reading I finished rereading Without Reservations and started reading wpadmirer's Burning Eden. I must be getting old as there was way too much sex in Without Reservations. I wanted more story and less sex if that makes any sense. Burning Eden on the other hand has some stellar storytelling, so much so that I got so worried about one of the characters I had to skip to the end to make sure he was still alive at the story's conclusion. Happily, my skill at locating character names without reading a whole lot more of the surrounding text has survived, so I didn't cheat myself out of any of the mystery.

I finished another cat bed this week and started the next, but that's all I had time for what with the yard, work, and the need for sleep taking up almost all of the rest.
