I'm a lot less grumpy as I type this than I was while creating the actual scrapbook page. Yesterday's elections turned out a whole lot better than I feared and that's helping ease my fears for the health of the nation and its peoples.
Last Saturday we drove an hour or so north to visit with our friends Bob & Marsha who were hosting this month's SEMGS. I hadn't seen Marsha for ages so just seeing her made it special.
Sunday was spent running load after load of laundry, biking, then going out for dinner at our current favorite family restaurant. While we were there we noticed a large number of police cars with their lights flashing and officers out and walking around. Turns out they were congregating around the emergency vet that is two doors down from Leo's. The reason was that a K-9 officer from St. Clair Shores had been shot. I overheard someone say they were going to transport his body to the Oakland County Coroner's Office, so I knew the dog had not survived. Both of us were upset that someone hurt a doggie.

On Monday I called my mom to see if she'd been released from the rehabilitation hospital yet. She has not but she reports she is reaching all of the milestones she needs to complete before they'll let her loose. So maybe a few more days, maybe another week. At least her mood is good and she isn't repeating herself the way she was a couple of months ago.
