Drive-by update

A few weeks ago, while I was hanging out at Artisan Knitworksm I met a woman who worked as a conservator of some of the artifacts recovered from the wreck of the Titanic. Jebra and I toured the Titanic Exhibit when it came to The Henry Ford Museum so I'd actually seen some of her work. She herself couldn't bear to visit the exhibit. She did, however, attend the funeral of the last Titanic survivor in Michigan. This wasn't as a part of her work, it was simply her way of honoring the life of someone to whom she was tangentially related on an emotional basis. She's a fascinating woman and I hope I run into her again.

We spent Thanksgiving in Indiana. Spending time with Jebra's brother & his family was good although there was too much televised football for my taste. I also wasn't feeling wonderful as witnessed by how little knitting I got done during the drive there & back.

Yesterday was SEMGS and I went home feeling sick thanks to having consumed far more carbs than is good for me. I was also disappointed not to see bloggingchick there.

Today I'm sitting on the couch thinking I really ought to start laundry and go take a shower but haven't managed to do more than start catching up on LJ and DW and try seeing the "What Lies Beneath" episode of The First 48. I tried watching it Friday night but couldn't follow what was going on. I thought it was because I was exhausted, but today I'm awake and I'm still having trouble figuring out what's going on. This is one heck of a confusing case, made all the more sensational by the sexuality of the two guys being accused of the crime. Clearly at least one of them is guilty but heck if I can tell who really committed the crime. I keep wishing I'd been on the jury as I wanted to see the entire testimony and I would have loved talking with the other jurors. The prosecutors seemed absolutely horrified at the things they enjoyed -- bondage, play piercing, gay sex, etc. -- but to me that part is easy to shrug off. So they weren't monogamous and are into S&M -- so what? That has nothing to do with the motive or execution of the crime. If anything I think this case shows that getting involved with crystal meth will never result in anything good.

I empathize with your carb overloading. I flew to TX to spend the holiday with my son-he bought thanksgiving dinner. And four pies. For two people. I'll tell you, I'm all pied out...lol

So sorry I didn't make it there. It was kind of far to drive and I want to go to Rennie's party & hopefully the band concert the following day & decided I would prefer to save gas for that.
