Might be mistaken for cousins?

I was browsing through my cache the other day and nearly mistook David Bromstad for Nick Lea. I wondered how similar in appearance they really are and decided to compare them side by side.

Next, I wondered if I'd be able to morph one into the other using GIMP. I'm not completely satisfied with the result Nick Lea is considerably more pale but considering my limited graphics abilities, it'll do.

(I kept the animation slow so that I could watch the faces gradually change. Going by the middle frames, they make a very handsome man when they are merged together.)

I wanted, but after three hours of fiddling with GIMP trying to make it animate the image when every layer except for the base was Nick's face with a different opacity setting, I gave up. In the image I ended up using, each layer is the full picture with Nick's face merged down onto the picture of David.
