I just see an empty box.

That's odd. I didn't change anything and yet [livejournal.com profile] betagoddess appears to be able to see the photo (as can I when I look at the page). Is it possible you were being impatient? The photos are coming from mystery.com, so they take a wee bit longer than LJ.

How wierd. Before it was a small empty box. I closed out the window and redid it, now I can see it.

That is absolutely wild how the ice completely encases the tree.

Personally, I'm relieved the problem was with your computer and not my html!

Everything was covered with ice -- the trees, the bird feeders, the power lines, the recycling bins. So much of what I saw was pretty -- and far beyond my ability to capture in a photograph.

That's so pretty! Except for when they destroy power lines, I love ice storms, especially when it gets sunny after and everything gleams like diamonds.

One BIG exception. The Ice Storm of '98 here when we lost power for 15 days and some lost it for almost a month. SO not fun!

I love how things look after an ice storm, but I'll be the first to admit that they're destructive. I heard *so* many sirens this morning, and power's half out at work, all up and down the street. Half out because half the rooms have power and half the rooms don't. I stayed home, but the spouse went in. He went out to get lunch for those who came in, and discovered that Taco Bell and the other fast food place are in the same boat -- the lights are on, but the business doesn't have enough power to function.

Not fun.

Most restaurants closed here during out Ice Storm of '98. The fast food restaurants that stayed open couldn't serve fries, cause there wasn't enough power for the big fans. They got pretty smoky just with making hot dogs and chicken burgers. =>}

Oh, I'll bet!

I am terrified of ice storms, mostly driving in them, or the possibility of losing power, but the ice is so pretty!

Oh - - Robbie, Chrisey and Max went home this morning, but J came home sick Thursday, and now he's made me sick. I'm sending him out on a tissue run soon - - between me, him and Mom, we should own stock in Kleenex. Don't know if I'll manage an e-mail. We've been napping in shifts.

Oh Maddie! Just what you don't need right now!

Get lots of rest for sure! Take care of yourself!!!

I know! The *last* thing I needed. And you know J's like a toddler when he's sick. If he's feeling well enough, he'll go back to work tomorrow(he had today off for MLK Day). Mom's aide will be coming tomorrow, so maybe I can get a nap while she's here.

ALL men are like big babies when they're sick. No one is EVER as sick as they are. Sheesh! =>}

I hope you get as much rest as you can. That's always the best cure for a cold!

And drink lots of juices with Vit. C and all that jazz. *g*

Oh no! Remember to get as much sleep as you can and to drink plenty of fluids. Chicken soup might help too -- [livejournal.com profile] jebra is bringing some home. He isn't sick (yet?), but he spent the day in an unheated building. I'd assumed the heat would survive the storm as it's gas heat, not electric. But no. Maybe there's some sort of blower involved? Anyway, the heat was still off when he called 45 minutes ago. No telling what we'll be faced with tomorrow morning, as its supposed be very cold tonight.

What's the weather doing down by you? Do Robbie, Chrisey and Max need to worry about road conditions on their drive home?

I'm doing the fluids thing. Sleep will be more difficult, with Mom going to bed late, J getting up early, then Mom getting up early, but I'll do my best.

Our weather here is lovely - - a bit cloudy, but very warm. Robbie, Chrisey and Max are safely home already. We're expecting rain in a few days, and if the temps drop as low as they're predicting, ice *will* be a concern then.

I know! Isn't it amazing how a storm soo destructive.. can make the next day so beautiful? I saw tree after tree like this this morning.. and the way the sun was glowing thru the ice.. it looked like all the twig/winter/trees/shrubs were coated in Silver! :D

That's what I do. It helps that I have an inexpensive digital camera that I don't really care about. I keep it in my bag and it goes with me everywhere. I'm not nearly as cavalier with my good camera. The good camera takes better photos, but you know, if you're just publishing on the web, you don't need a large number of megapixels.

Our trees didn't look quiote that pretty but the dog prints on the patio were very nice. And my Rita almost disappeared when she was out there.
