Thank you. I don't know how much talent I'd say this takes though -- so far I've learnt a whopping four stitches (five if you count slip stitch) and can't reliably read patterns -- but if you can crochet a few types of stitches and arrange blocks of color, you can certainly create something equally pretty.

I sure hope so. I'm still worried about how she'll react -- she asked for greens and I thought the blue would be a minor color, but looking at it now, all I see is rose and blue.

I think the dark green being the center square brings out all the other dark & light green squares quite nicely.

Thank you for your comment. I kept a copy in my inbox so I could refer back to it every time I started to fret about my sister's reaction. I heard back from her; she likes it and seems quite delighted with the color scheme. *Whew!* I feel *so* much better now.
