Gratitude / TMI

I know I'm an imperfect person and one of my failures is an ability to feel true gratitude. Oh, there's stuff I like and things I'm genuinely happy to receive/participate in/have. But somehow my internal level of appreciation does not meet my personal definition of gratitude.
I think about gratitude a lot though, mostly because I'm a huge fan of silver_chipmunk's daily list of six things she for which feels gratitude.
I should feel gratitude for antibiotics and allergy medicines (as I know damn well that without them I'd be dead by now), but a little bit ago I realized that today I feel genuine gratitude for indoor plumbing and wet wipes.
