Our bed is still covered with yarn but I need to rest for a while. I also have more sympathy for the folks on the various hoarding shows who get tired after what seems to the viewer (read, me) a ridiculously short amount of time. I'm exhausted and I'm no where near done. Also, unless you lived here, you wouldn't be able to tell anything has changed. Unnerving, that.

Take pictures as you sort, then you can print out a list of what is where... I tried that when I sorted fabric last time... and have a couple of dozen photos or material, along with a list of how much is there... never got around to putting it on the bins of fabric, tho, so I know i have 5 yards of black rayon somewhere in the closet.

I did a little better the last time I sorted yarn, and labeled the bins... except that was 2 years ago and at some point the labels no longer match the bins.

What I want is something like Readerwear for yarn and fabric-- scan the barcode, and it'll go online, look up what you have, give you a price for it... then you an input what bin it's in, how much you have and if there is a project plan for it.

I have a very organized imagination... too bad i seldom put it into practice:)

Funny you should say that. Funny because that's what I was doing. (I didn't see your comment until this morning. Apparently I never checked LJ yesterday. I was too busy pulling my hair out trying to figure out crochet on the double. Which thus far has defeated me.)

I also took photos of the various boxes I stuffed the yarn into, as I knew I wouldn't be able to remember what box held what.
