Will menopause please hurry up and get here. My @$#@$@! cramps are so bad I'm afraid they'll trigger vomitting. Only another two hours before I can take more pain med.
I can't believe I am grateful for having migraines. Because they have to keep my hormone levels even, I take birth control pills every day, therefore, no period.
However, I always feel like my plumbing will get backed up so when I go back for a 6 month refill, I will 'give' myself a period....so basically I have a period twice a year.
Have you had things checked out? My cramping (and vomitting) lead to teh discovery of fibroids . And ok, so far the treatment hads been ineffectual, but at least I'm on the gravy train of attempting to resolve the issue.
Everything was normal the last time I saw my gynecologist. My annual appoint is coming up and I'll be sure to ask her about it. Experiencing a great deal of pain the first two or three days of bleeding was my norm until I combined antisorbate's advice with prescription medicine. antisorbate suggested taking calcium supplements and they really do help. When I'm having regular cycles, I'd change pain medicines three times each menstrual cycle. My default pain medication is 300 mg of motrin twice a day, however five days before a period I switch to anaprox DS as it blocks the hormones that cause the cramping. If I've taken the anaprox on time, cramping isn't as severe as it used to be. Once my period begins, I switch to tramadol. If I'm lucky, the pain will stop and then, if I take the next dose before the cramps return, they won't return at all. I typically take the tramadol for two or three days; once the cramping part of the cycle stops, I switch back to motrin. What's become difficult is predicting my cycle; for ten years following my surgery for ovarian cysts, my menstrual cycle was as regular as clockwork. Then, a year or so ago, I entered perimenopause and my cycles grew erratic. Which is why I can no longer predict when I should switch to the anaprox. And I can't sue anaprox for days on end the way I can motrin because the stuff just kills my stomach.
Asking about fibroids is a good idea. Thank you for the suggestion.
