At first I wasn't going to go to the Memorial Day gig as it conflicted with my Sunday crafts group, but at the last minute I decided to leave the meeting an hour early and go with him. The music was not really my cup of tea, but I didn't hate it either. The grounds of the cemetery were decorated with *so* many flags it would have been very difficult to count them (I didn't even try). It was also quite windy, which meant some of the scores went flying and the canopy over my head tried to roll away several times. Fortunately for us, there was a group of employees standing by to drag it back into place.
One thing I particularly enjoyed was seeing the inside of the chapel. I'd been to the cemetery several times before, but this was the first time I'd entered the building. I like the design of the exterior but I wasn't expecting the beauty of the interior. I also hadn't comprehended the actual size of the building or the fact that it is three stories tall. Maybe some day I will explore it thoroughly. Even though there isn't an elevator and I would find it quite difficult to climb the stairs.
I brought my knitting to the concert and hope to finish the current hat before Saturday. I also knocked out one more cat bed. If I can keep this up, I should be able to finish at least 52 next year. The count won't be that high this year as looking for work really cut into my crafting time.
My new job continues to be enjoyable and interesting. For example, I had a lovely conversation with a potential client who told me it took her five weeks to get an appointment with folks who do evalulations. That surprised me.
Some sort of emergency vehicles used their sirens near our house this morning and it triggered the howling neighbors' dogs. I love hearing that and wanted to record it, but as usual I couldn't find the right app on my phone until after they stopped.
