Maybe in 2025 my memory will improve and I'll actually remember all the things I want to say while I'm creating the week's scrapbook page. I went to bed before posting and now I can't recall much of anything other than that fortune cookie fortune. Which I received on Christmas Day when we feasted on Orange Chicken with broccoli from our neighborhood Chinese restaurant. We had carry out, in part because I didn't want to be around people and in part because we planned to watch Die Hard during our dinner. Which I'm pleased to report we did, after two years of trying to find and record a broadcast of the movie.

The fortune came true in that on Saturday in that I stayed home while Jebra went up north to visit with his folk. I joined my fellow Starsky and Hutch fans on Zoom and had a very nice time. On Sunday I met with my online crafting group and finished the hat shown on today's page. I like how the hat turned out and it was a great use of left-over sock yarn. Pretty, practical, and I think it will keep its human warm. I don't know who that will be; I plan to put the hat into the auction at Thing.

I took the week off from making cat beds, which felt really strange. Instead, I started knitting another charity hat and then hunted for my mislaid knitting needles so that I could continue when the pattern called for a larger size after completing the hat's brim.

The other big thing this week was convincing the government's website to let me complete signing up for a medicare card. That took days as the site repeatedly booted me off for taking too long to answer certain questions. Like "Where were you born?" Which answer do I give, the actual place or the one on my official birth certificate? No wonder folks are told to start signing up 4 months before they turn 65!
