This was a busy week. Not only was I still recovering from my weekend at Thing, but I had doctors appointments. One was with my podiatrist, one of those specialists you get to add to your care team when you have diabetes. My feet are still in reasonably good shape although my left foot wants to twist to the right. Which she says is caused by the muscles in my leg being of unequal strength. The next day I went to see my physical medicine doctor who tells me that the muscles in both legs from my knees on down are now *very* weak. He had no ideas about what to do with this bit of information and no clear idea of why this is happening. I think it has to do with my spine but have no idea what I can do about it or if there is another doctor I should consult.

I finished knitting The Kram Hat (you can see it in a new tab by clicking the link) and started knitting another charity hat right away.

Saturday's tea party was much fun and I got to catch up with some folks I hadn't seen for many months. There were lots of different teas and so many cookies and deserts. There were also two people born on the 9th so we celebrated their birthdays as well. We stayed later than I expected but we managed to get home with enough time for me to bike for an hour or two.

On Sunday we got up at the usual time and got ready to leave for brunch at Bourbons in Brighton. We met up with two of our friends from college and spent a solid two hours catching up. After brunch, we drove to Simplix to pick up a package that was delivered there instead of the house and saw that now there are no employees to pay, there was money to fix the landscaping. Which will assuredly improve the building's appeal to potential buyers. We picked up my medicine and the two shepherd's crooks we'd accidentally left behind, then rushed home to feed Fiona and buy tickets for the Grace_Theisen_Trio concert. It took place at Barry Lonik's house; we hadn't met him before but in trying to find the address I learned a bit about him. He's what I'd call an environmentalist and someone I wouldn't mind getting to know better. I found this article about him. Jebra had some trouble getting the ticketing system behave but he managed and we had just a half hour to get to Dexter. We drove faster than usual (Jebra typically drives like an old man) and arrived just in time for the concert. I had no idea what type of music would be played; the reason we were interested in the concert was that Carolyn Koebel texted Jebra to tell him about it. If he ever runs away from home, I know to contact Carolyn and check her basement, as he's in love with her playing and her percussion gear. Anyway, the music was interesting and enjoyable, Carolyn was her amazing self, and the other two performers are very talented. The singer is also interesting in her own right. You can learn more about her here.

When the concert ended it was late and he hadn't had dinner, so we stopped in Plymouth on the way home to get something at Zack's. I was hoping for their cabbage soup which is one of my big favorites, but that wasn't on the menu Sunday night, so I had a big bowl of their vegetable soup. As we were finishing up, one of Jebra's former bandmates walked in. We redirected the hostess and had her seat him at our table and we spent another hour having more soup (Beef & Barley this time) and finding out what he's been doing since he left the band.

Monday I wanted to sleep in as I was exhausted from the weekend but I got up expecting a call from my new boss. Unfortunately she was under the weather and had to postpone our talk, so I spent some time starting today's scrapbook page and trying to get our tax stuff together. I worked on that again yesterday and still have more to do today or tomorrow; I promised myself I'd have it all gathered by March 15th.

Last night the Knitting Guild met and our guest speaker taught an introductory course on Tunisian Crochet. I'd done it before but have forgotten the basics and my practice piece turned into a wedge rather than a square. I'm haven't decided whether to keep going or rip it out and do something else with the yarn. Maybe I'll rip it out, I hate to fail at anything. I did learn that there are many more stitches than the basic one I used to know how to do. She showed us a blanket made of twelve squares, each with a different stitch pattern. I had no idea that was even possible with Tunisian crochet. The way I was introduced to the craft was as a way to produce a knit-like fabric.

Man, it does sound like you had a busy week!

Pat and I went to an in-house concert just a short while ago. It was Jack Williams, who's mostly known as a folk musician. It was wonderful. We love his songs, and he's always entertaining to see. Pat bought a cd. (He'd bought one at the previous concert we saw).

I have got to do my taxes. I think that will be this weekend's task. UGH.
