There really isn't much to tell you about as getting ready for, having, and then recovery from surgery took up the majority of my week. Surgery was Thursday, I was home by 1 pm on Friday, and spent the entire weekend inside the house. I watched old recordings of Judge Judy, using the end of every other episode as a reminder to get up and walk for a few minutes. I did countless foot pumps and also iced my swollen left leg and elevated it as directed. Walking around the first floor of our house was extremely boring, not to mention frustrating as it is maybe 15 steps from the couch to the bathroom or kitchen.

Monday I returned to work not just because of having things to do here but because there is a heck of a lot more space to walk. I'm still supposed to be getting up and walking at least once an hour.

Pain isn't horrible although my back does not love me so much today. My back often gets grumpy when I've been sleeping flat on my back and that's what I've been trying to do what with needing to elevate my legs and not lie on my left side.

Last night, after work, Jebra took me to Guild where I learned the location of the church's elevator. I also learned that going up a slope with a walker is a bit of a challenge and that going down the slope verges on frightening. I do not like feeling out of control. Anyway, this was the first Guild meeting of the year and it felt great to see everyone. I got to show off one of my penguin hats and give it to our charity coordinator. I also came home with more yarn, but there's nothing new about that. I have plans to make a few Seaman's hats with the yarn I picked up from the free table.

Seaman's hats sound interesting. Glad you're getting better and better, but man, be careful!

Sleeping is always uncomfortable after surgery. I can't imagine trying to sleep after hip surgery. Hope everything continues to improve!
