The drive to Indiana was enjoyable as everything was very green even though smoke from the Canadian wildfires was down there too. The party was fun even though the band was *very* loud in the pavilion (which was a large enclosed room) and it was pretty much impossible to talk with anyone.

Monday morning the air conditioner repairman came and fixed the A/C. The reason it wasn't working was that the motherboard was fried by an electrical surge of unknown provenance. He was able to replace the board so once again we can cool the house and sleep at night.

We slept in the 4th (which I'm sure we desperately needed), Jebra ran a couple of loads of laundry, I did the dishes, and then we drove out to the Speedway at 16 and John R for slurpees. They didn't have that lemon thing I love but I had an orange version that reminded of the orange push up pops I used to love when I was a kid. On the way back to the house we drove through Clawson and reclaimed it for our Ingress team.

After work tonight we're returning to Belle Isle for another concert. I have no clue what band is performing but Jebra and Jennlk will be among the musicians.

Congratulations to the celebrants! Bummer on the AC, but at least it sounds like it was a pretty easy fix.

The gig tonight is a combined band. Dale M directs both the Troy Heritage and the Belgian American bands as well as the Livingston County Concert Band (and Tuba Christmas in December). TH/BAA often do combined concerts, and MOBIG reached out to them to fill in the July 5th concert date. Dale asked if anyone in the Livingston band would like to join them -- he doesn't feel like he can schedule Livingston for Belle Isle because it's so far, but he'd like to conduct there, and he wasn't sure he'd be able to get enough musicians from TH/BAA. I was chatting to Jebra after FCB rehearsal, and he said "heh. I should just show up to see the look on Dale's face".

And here we are, getting ready for another concert on Belle Isle. This one will be much hotter. (Last week's was gorgeous, even with the low air quality.)

Craig and Dale wanted to call it the Amalgamated Band, but the trombones decided it was the HodgePodge Band. :) It was only mentioned once, and I would have missed it myself except that I was sitting right in front of the 'bones.

I can't really compare it to last week's, because I was in the sun last week and in the shade yesterday. There was more breeze yesterday, and the air was lighter (even though it was humid). I think it probably felt cooler, even if it wasn't really. And that's what matters, not the numbers.... :)

'twas good to see you. {hug}
