Code Enforcement is keeping tabs on us. I just started today's update when my phone rang and it was, of course, Code Enforcement asking for a verbal update. I gave one (as happily both piles of paving stones that has been one of their concerns) were removed over the weekend. And the rat traps are back as I verified when we were working on the yard over the weekend). The officer said he'd be back out to check, which from my point of view is redundant, but I suppose they get lied to a lot.

In mom news, we connected on the phone yesterday afternoon and, for a change, she called me. She was doing pretty good although she was sleepy and her hip was hurting.

Last night I met with K2TOG Minneapolis Online! for an hour. I'm glad I exited the call when I did as I wasn't expecting it to take 45 minutes to wash the dishes and brush my teeth. It was slightly after 9:00 when I returned to the living room to bike, so I fired up the newest episode of Annika and peddled while I watched. I'm still enjoying the show, particularly the lead character's musings on history and mythology.

This morning I switched from my summer to my winter shoes. There was a light dusting of snow on the grass when we stepped outside, so I'm glad I didn't procrastinate.

It makes mo sense for code enforcement to insist on things being kept up in the winter. I don't know how they expect that. It's cold and there's snow. The only thing I can think of is to hire somebody. I don't see how you guys can do it yourself. I have so much to do for my house and that's going to have to be what I do. I can't handle this yard on my own and my mower won't do it so I'm going to have to pay somebody else on top of him. I hate this. I miss my mother's old guy who passed away. He did this stuff and just added on the stuff that he saw that needed done. This mower just won't lift a finger extra even if he's getting paid. I keep chanting to myself I've got to get moved.

I'm glad you were able to get so much done with your yard!

Pat and I had a cedar tree limb come down last week due to the winds from Nicole. We were able to drag it away, chop it up and leave it for our landlord to carry off. He was very appreciative that we had done that.

We also brought in some cedar branches and some wood because it smelled SO wonderful.

You know if you like the Thursday Murder Club, there's two sequels. I just finished reading The Bullet that Missed.
