I'd say I'm still wiped out from the weekend but I fear my exhaustion began long ago. I spent the days leading up to the weekend trying to get to bed at a reasonable hour. This was complicated by the number of times we ended up working late and my desire to get in at least an hour on my exercise bike before getting ready to bed. And I ran out of bananas which lead to me waking up with leg cramps multiple times per night.
Friday night I skipped meeting with the Cranky Women so that I could go to bed as I knew we'd be getting up insanely early on Saturday. We were going to Ionia to see my mother and that meant that if we wanted to do an Ingress First Saturday event it would have to be early. If we joined the group playing in Kharkiv, Ukraine we could start at 6 am and be on the road to my mother's house respectably early. So that's what we did.
Mom was happy to see us and we were delighted to see her. Her memory problems are continuing to worsen and she's finding it more difficult to get up and move around. I think she's also giving more thought to ridding her home of the things she doesn't want or need, or that she wants to have end up in the "right" hands. I came home with a stunning amber necklace and two woven belts/sashes from Latvia.
We left her house around 8 pm and got home right around 11. I brushed my teeth, put on my night clothes and fell into bed. I was barely up in time to run the Stitch & Bitch Social Sunday morning. That went well though and I had a good time visiting with some of our regulars.
I can't remember whether I finished a cat bed on Sunday or Monday night. That was the only finished project this week as with the working late and trying sleep there wasn't time to knit or crochet. Last night I met with a different group of Minneapolis knitters and hung out with them for an hour while I crocheted. So yes, there's already another cat bed on my hook.
Yesterday afternoon I had a dental appointment to have a post installed in my jaw. Unfortunately the bone hasn't grown back enough to support the hardware. I get to return in another month and a half to see if that makes a difference. If not, I get to have a bone graft and let that heal before the post can be installed. On the way to appointment we started listening to a new audio book, Agatha Christie's One, Two, Buckle My Shoe. The book begins with Hercule Poirot's visit to his own dentist and that increased my anxiety as, clearly, Poirot does not enjoy having his teeth worked on. I was all the more relieved when I learned no drilling was going to take place in the immediate future.
