My crosspost from DW to LJ failed this morning, so I am trying again, this time with commentary since I was too rushed to try typing something up this morning...

jebra wants us to spend time working on the yard every day since travel and band stuff are no longer consuming his free time. So far we have pulled down a large amount of grapevine plus cut down at least four mulberry trees and two or three maples. These were all volunteers growing in spots too near the house or fence line. Anyway, spending time in the yard means I'm not spending as much time crocheting and I finished only three beds this week.

On Saturday the Black Sheep Knitting Guild's charity coordinator hosted an open house to, as she put it, "throw open the door to the yarn vault" and let members pick what they wanted for summer charity knitting. I picked out yarn for three hats, two of which included patterns I've never knit before. I also brought home three bags of scrap yarn for cat beds. I'm happy to have the yarn and I'm even happier that I managed to wash the kitchen floor before the new yarn arrived. It is, of course, destined to be stored under the kitchen table. I know I will go through it as I have about 200 t-shirts left to cut into tarn.

Meanwhile I've been fretting over the health of the country. I think it is disgusting that white folks can bring their assault weapons into Michigan's capital and scream at police, and black folks are murdered by cops. For years I've been worried about military gear being sold/donated to police departments and the infiltration of white supremacists into these organizations.
