Project 52

Yes, this is Tuesday, not the traditional Wednesday. The page is ready, and I'm grumpy, and I feel like venting.
(If the image refuses to load, you should be able to see it in a new tab by clicking here.)
Saturday was good albeit rushed. We couldn't sleep in since the Virtual First Saturday started at 11:00 (and we had to have breakfast and do other stuff before it began). Being virtual we could play at any of the IFS events but because the West Bloomfield event was in honor of one the local players, we played there. I'd met FoxMulder88 a few times but never had the opportunity to ask him how he picked his name. I wish I had as I'm going to wonder about that every time I see his name mentioned. He's still on some of the local portals; I'm happy folks on the Resistance team are keeping it alive.
I leveled up during First Saturday (and came in at either 5th or 6th place depending on how you calculate the score). It was not my best performance though. I ran out of things to recharge with a half hour left to play and I struggled with the technology and my eyes. There was a combination of Ingress (on my tablet), telegram (on my Audible phone), and google sheets on my laptop, and Zoom on my regular cellphone. I wasn't much use on the portal challenge as I couldn't see the thumbnails well enough to identify what the referenced in the physical world. Same problem with the spreadsheet, I just couldn't read the cells.
After the event we ate a light lunch, then headed over to
mbumby's house to fetch her and go to Adrian where there was a six-mission set we wanted to play. While we were playing the woman who created the set found us to say hi and that was nice. Adrian is a cute little town and had lots of stuff for me to look at including interesting architectural details, small courtyard gardens, historical plaques, and the tree with the bright red COVID-like fruit.
Following our Missions,
mbumby called her husband to see if he was interested in joining us for dinner at The Harvest Moon. I was disappointed to see the menu has changed (I'm blaming COVID for that) but the food was excellent and I enjoyed it very much even if my blood sugar level was inordinately high the next morning. This was probably not helped by the fact I was exhausted by the time we got home and didn't do my usual stint on the exercise bike.
Clark took
mbumby home with him, so we didn't have to detour to their house but when we got in the car I fired up Zoom to join the SEMGS group online. When Maria asked where we were I explained and she said we should detour to their house to pick up one of the loaves of bread she'd baked. We headed there and while we were doing that, David decided he'd add two (small) boxes of his macaron cookies. His are gorgeous and taste even better than they look. Today I can't think of which two flavors he provided us with but I can attest to them being wonderful and going most excellently with hot tea. Maria's bread is equally fabulous.
On Sunday I did load after load of laundry, watched Midsommer Murders from the day before, and cranked out another cat bed. Then it was time to have dinner, exercise, and have
jebra cut my hair again. If we do it every other week it makes a heck of a lot less mess so I think I'm going to insist that's what we do.
I did not sleep well Sunday night and was very sleepy at work all day yesterday. The sleepiness may have been influenced by getting the first injection of our Shingles vaccines. Today my arm is swollen at the injection site and hurts when I press on it it, but other than that isn't bothering me. Anyway, by the time we got home I had only 15 minutes to work on the next cat bed then it was time for my nighttime routine of getting clothes ready for the next day, taking care of the cat, brushing my teeth, exercising and showering.
Tonight I supposedly have a choice between two Black Sheep Knitting Guild events, a live one that begins at 4 pm (an hour before I leave work) and a Zoom session that I fear begins at the same time. If I'm right, it will mean I have to miss tonight's meeting and wonder who I need to grump at as I will be very unhappy if the official monthly meeting starts equally early next week.
There's no mom news as my mom didn't answer her phone when I called earlier today. I do know that my brother Rob and his wife had dinner with my sister KC and her husband on Sunday. I'm happy they were able to get together on Rob & Dianna's Anniversary trip.
The only other thing of note is that I completed my absentee ballot and need to drop it off. I might put that off until tomorrow as I'd like to get home in time for at least a few minutes of Guild. I wonder how many texts, emails, and phone messages I'm going to get between now and the end of the election. I'm already annoyed at how many I'm getting particularly as I never never published the tablet's info anywhere.

Date: 2020-10-07 01:39 pm (UTC)My picture is a Lychee. I haven't a clue what that tree is, although within the last week or so someone on my fb flist posted a picture of their tree, with a covid joke attached, and I'm pretty sure that the picture I saw (which I am NOT going to look for) is of the same tree we saw.
