The scrapbook page pretty much says it all. [personal profile] jebra went up north to see his folks (and his siblings) and worked on emptying the folk's garage. He came back with our van stuffed with things for the dumpster but says if you weren't one of the people working on emptying it, you wouldn't be able to tell stuff has been removed.

I stayed home with Fiona and knit and knit and knit. And watched old tv shows as I was in a mood and recorded Mannix, Cannon, and Barnaby Jones. I enjoyed Barnaby Jones so much I told the DVR to record all of them. I remember liking this show when I was a kid. I still enjoy it but I'm dismayed at how believable I found it when I was young. I think most of my ideas about how the world worked came from tv and this has not served me well. I often wonder what life would have been like had I been reared differently.

Charity knitting is going well although I screwed up the sleeves of the baby sweater and am contemplating unweaving the ends and reknitting the cuffs on the sleeves. The first step is to see if can get the ends undone. When I weave in ends, they tend to stay woven in. I think I have two charity kits from Guild still in the kitchen but there is so much yarn left over from the baby sweater I am going to knit a few baby and child-sized hats first.

No mom news because I (hangs head) forgot to call. I also forgot to text my sister KC on Sunday. I did briefly text with my sister Cindy (she's doing okay) and with my brother Quim. Which is when I learned he was laid off 14 months ago and is still unemployed. He lives out in California and with the fires and all else I worry about him.

In health news, I had the MRI of my neck yesterday afternoon. Nothing obviously wrong other than a lot of arthritis (which does not explain exactly what causes my pain and intermittent numbness). This is par for the course. Next step is obtaining wrist braces and giving thought to talking to surgeons about what is possible. I have a referral so all I need to decide is to go forward with calling their office.

ARGH. Surgeons. I know they're necessary, but they do like to operate. I hope you can find some relief, and if surgery is necessary, I hope it goes well.

I think the beach hat is cute!

I make weekly scrapbook pages (using GIMP, the Gnu Image Manipulation Project/Program) and then post them to my LJ/DW on Wednesdays. I've been doing this since 2015.
