I don't have much to say about this week. Our wonderful friend Jean went into hospice the week before and she was reaching her end.
jebra went to say goodbye after work on Friday. I thought about going with him but was afraid that the I'd infect everyone with the cold/cough thing I've been fighting. To my mind losing Jean is bad enough, adding physical misery would just make everyone feel even worse. We were out running errands on Saturday when we learned she had passed. Jean was a true warrior, surviving her form of breast cancer almost twice as long as everyone else who has had it.
I turned 59 on Sunday. Highlights of my day were going out to dinner with
jebra and opening my gifts from
maddiec24 (two coloring books plus a book of full of extremely cute cat-related knitting patterns). Most of my day was spent on the couch working on a cat bed for a friend while watching recorded shows and trying not to dwell on what a big void Jean has left in my world.
