On the verge of bad words

One of the stories I remember from childhood is the "The Emperor's New Clothes;" when I tell it to myself it begins not with the weavers but with his staff claiming that he is dressed fabulously and that they are in the presence of true greatness. And that was all I could think of when I read Trump’s Cabinet, With a Prod, Extols the ‘Blessing’ of Serving Him this morning. My stomach is literally churning with disgust that (a) he needs a course of flattery before getting down to the business of leading the country and (b) that his administration is willing to give it to him.

I was happy to read that Jim "Mad Dog" Mattis didn't kowtow but instead praised the men and women he serves as Sec'y of Defense. It's a small blessing, I suppose, but better than none. I wonder how long he'll last on the cabinet if he refrains from kissing Trump's butt.

I was happy about that too. I meant to go back and reread the transcript to see if Mattis was the only one who didn't kiss up but didn't get to it. Heck, it's taken me until now to respond to your comment.
