Date: 2007-11-12 05:05 am (UTC)As it turned out, the soups were quite tasty. Bev provided four bases: tomato, chicken, beef, and white cream. I tried all four of the resulting soups and enjoyed them all. Turnout was light this year -- about 25 people as compared with the 40 or so that attended in 2006. I can't decide if the soups would have tasted even better with more ingredients, or if more could have ruined any of them. Some of the combinations were unusual to be sure. I can't say I've ever had kidney beans in my tomato soup. Or carrots in what began as a ham/potato/cream soup.
