Strange building at the Wyndham Hotel

When we arrived at the hotel, we pulled into the employee's section of the parking lot. And spotted a building that looked like something out of Harry Potter peeking above the wall that separates the courtyard from the parking lot:

I have *no* idea why it's constructed the way it is, but I rather like it. Here's another view of the building from within the hotel's courtyard.

It looks like a tree-house.

We have investigated - Windycon is held in the same hotel - and it's the house that supports the pools. It's strategically located between the indoor and outdoor pools. Why they made it two story, with a medieval theme, is a mystery. It probably has something to do with the hotel itself being three buildings unevenly bonded together (the three parts being: the eleven?-story tower, the four-story motel section, and the one-story reception/dining section).
