L&O:SVU

I watched L&O:SVU last night. My continued devotion to the show is a mark of my stubborness as I will freely admit the last two seasons appear to have been scripted by monkeys with an infinite number of keyboards. The plots are not very good, the twists usually have me going WTF, and the overall preachiness has gone from not to bad to damn near intolerable. Yes, there is clearly something wrong with me for tuning in every week.

And now today I see a link to Ausiello announcing 'SVU' exclusive: 'Oz' lovers Meloni and Tergesen reunite!

Do I think the episode will suck? Yes. Will I watch anyway? Yes.

I'm with you, sister! The Lee appearance is your reward for hanging in there with the show. :)

This sounds like what happened to Smallville, though the damage happened far earlier in its run and had far more effect on the characters, I think. Clearly there is something evil about the initials 'SV' as reprenting the name of a TV show. It's a curse.

I haven't watched either show for a while, so I can't comment otherwise. I simply wonder why these things happen. Are the producers on crack? Do they just phone in to their jobs and otherwise let the staff loose to do what they want? Do they hate the viewing public, the network, the show itself, or all three and then some?
