Drive-by Update
Jul. 15th, 2010 12:10 pmOur new Kenmore washer & dryer were delivered yesterday and I ran my first two loads of laundry last night. So far, so good. Saturday I'm going to wash *all* of the bedding. After a month without a working dryer, everything deserves a good scrub.
Saturday we're taking Hector and Hamish to the vet. For Hector, this is more of a routine physical. For Hamish, it's to see if we can uncover any clues as to why he's been avoiding the litter box when he needs to poo. Not pee, just poo. I searched the interwebs for advice and didn't find anything that seems to fit other than the general admonishment to take him to the vet to rule out physical causes.
In other making mrs_sweetpeach happy news, fresh yarn from the Austin Browncoats has arrived and I'm happily knitting Jayne Hats that will be sold at DragonCon. I won't be there, just my hats. And speaking of Jayne Hats, someone on Ravelry sent me a note that her daughter used my pattern to knit her own mini-Jayne hat. That made my day. (If any my flisties are on ravelry, send me your id and I'll friend you there too. I'm mrs-sweetpeach, as if you couldn't guess...)
In other knitting news, last night I watched a video on provisional cast on. I haven't tried it yet, but the next pattern I want to attempt calls for one. It looks fairly straight-forward and I have the yarn and needles already picked out, so perhaps I'll get to that this weekend between loads of laundry.
Oh, one last thing, I discovered http://8bc.org/music/Doctor+Octoroc/16-Bit+%22Firefly%22+Theme+Song+(Joss+Whedon). To quote:

Oh, one last thing, I discovered http://8bc.org/music/Doctor+Octoroc/16-Bit+%22Firefly%22+Theme+Song+(Joss+Whedon). To quote:
An arrangement of the theme song from the short-lived but amazing FOX series "Firefly" by Joss Whedon. It's not exactly 8-Bit, but created with the same love for vintage gaming systems and the limitations of their sound hardware. I used Super Nintendo soundfonts from Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV, A Link to the Past, F Zero and Mega Man X along with FL Studio.I love it so much I added it to my playlist twice.
