Lady Bird Johnson, First Lady to her husband President Lyndon Johnson, died of natural causes today at the age of 94.
Lady Bird created the Wild Flower Research Center in 1982; the center was later renamed Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in her honor. The center is a great resource for those who love native wild flowers or who want to learn about the role served by native plants and native landscapes in maintaining a healthy environment.
The nation's a bit poorer today.
