Feeling revolted (but I can't stop watching)

Secret Lives of Women is one of my favorite shows. Usually the women highlighted lead interesting lives and are, for the most part, shown in a positive light. This week's show was different. The topic was 'shopaholics' and I just don't understand the things that energize these women. They squee over clothes that I think look hideous. I can almost understand the woman who goes nuts over pretty dishes and cookware, but not to the point where it results in being unable to pay the phone bill.

Shopping is one of those addictions I really can't relate to (unless, of course, one is talking about scrapbooking supplies and toys!). I have a friend who is hooked on the Home Shopping Channel...she's got thousands of dollars worth of jewelry she's bought off there, including at least 50 watches. And about 5 sets of expensive cookware. And at least half a dozen crock pots of various sizes. And anything/everything porcelain with roses on it. Just amazing crap.

And there's an old guy here at work who can't retire because of his wife's HSN addiction. It's as bad as gambling.

Speaking of cookware! I just bought a KitchenAid 12-piece cookware set on sale during Amazon's Labor Day sale! Whoo! Never shall my eggs stick again.
