Date: 2020-10-15 03:30 pm (UTC)I think I'd put a week or two between the flu shot and the shingles vaccine. In fact, that is what we did. We had the flu shot first. That went without any side effects, so a week and bit later we went for the Shingles vaccine. The side effects weren't horrible, just a constant low grade headache for three or four days plus feeling very tired. Where I got the injection was quite sore if I put any pressure on the area and it did swell up and turn the entire area under the bandage red. I thought maybe I was allergic to the adhesive, but removing the band-aide didn't help. It took around four days for the redness to disappear and the lump at the injection site to disappear. Compared to the getting the flu, the shingles shot was a walk in the park.
I encourage you to get both shots as soon as you can (although not at the same time so that if you have side effects you know who to blame)!
