If it weren't for COVID-19, Penguicon would have taken place this past weekend. [personal profile] jebra typically shaves off his winter beard during Penguicon. Our clippers did not survive the flood, so he went to Meijers to replace them. As I pretty much expected, they had sold out. So I suggested he look for some in the pet department. He not only found a set, they were less expensive than the human kind, even though the are the same thing except for the packaging. So, Saturday night I shaved his head and then he trimmed his beard down to a goatee. When that was done, he cut my hair too.

Speaking of things cancelled by the Stay-at-Home order, Thursday should have been a night at the theater for a performance of Don't Drink the Water. Hopefully Mamma Mia will still take place later this year as that was show I was most eager to see.

Sunday was laundry and we went over to Madison Heights Civic Center for a walk and Ingress. The temperature was great but the wind was fierce. I found it difficult to stand and hack portals because the wind would cause me to lose balance. I didn't fall but it was near thing. We reached Level 11 while we were out.

NFHS Band/Orchestra was supposed hold their Spring Concerts Monday and Tuesday nights. They too were cancelled, as has all school through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Tuesday night would have also been social knitting at Panera, but as we have Zoom that's what we did. I enjoyed the virtual get-together and was delighted by the fandom yarn one of my sisters purchased. The colors being based off Schitt's Creek. She bought it from Bumblebee Acres Fiber Farm if you want to go and have a look.

The only other thing of a note that comes to mind is that I spotted a flock of goslings on the lawn this morning. There were four adults and 15 or 16 babies.

The cancellation of things seems to make it all feel harder, somehow? Like, I'm okay with being home all the time pretty much but then an event comes by that someone would have been at and... it feels weird. Perhaps it's just that it marks the passing of time more clearly. Anyway, I am sorry you are missing out on things that you would have liked to attend, especially since you seem a lot more social than me :))

Goslings! <3

And I'd say you got a hair cut!

Ah! So we're a bit similar, then. I'm an introvert too, and all my social activities are actually me ferrying kiddo to things, because she is... somehow not an introvert, at least it seems that way at the moment. Hubs and are pretty baffled by that, to be honest, but it is an interesting way of testing my limitations. I'm sort of dreading when isolation comes to an end, and suddenly I have to start them all up again en masse-- I had originally eased us into activities, so I could build up a bit of a resistance, ha.

I had no idea that's how that works. So cool. Thanks for the geese lesson. It's amazing that they take other eggs to grow their families. Sneaky critters.

Apparently, referring to the goslings as "snack-sized geese" is frowned upon.
