Once again I don't have much to say about the week. Work was its usual self and my evenings were my usual mix of crochet and time spent on my exercise bike.

On Saturday we attended one of my favorite annual events, Sharon's Tea Party. We saw friends and enjoyed some very tasty treats. After the party we had dinner and then returned home and did what we needed to do to get ready for Sunday.

Sunday was St. Patrick's Day and Jean's Wake. Before she went into the hospital, Jean and [ profile] jebra had been planning a St. Patrick's Day dinner. Since that was the last event Jean had a hand in planning, Marshall and Ian decided having her wake on St Patrick's Day and using the menu they'd discussed would be the fitting memorial. I lost track of how many people attended but there were a heck of a lot of them. I saw people I used to dance with from Jean's Nia days, at least one of her co-workers from when she was a librarian, folks from SEMGS, friends she made through marketing Cabi clothing, friends she made while fighting cancer, and, of course, family. It was a good celebration of Jean's life and exactly the sort of party she would have loved. I just wish she could have been there in person.

That's really nice. It's always good when a memorial "fits."

Dunno how many people were there (other than "lots" -- from about 3:30 to 5:30 people were coming and leaving at about the same rate), but we went through over a hundred paper plates and 90 ea of forks and spoons. Some people undoubtedly used more than one plate/fork, and others may have just used their fingers as there was a lot of finger food.
