Project 52

Peter and the Starcatcher was one strange play. It's the prequel to Peter Pan so it is geared for children although there were a few inside jokes (rather like in the old Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoon series). But the play felt uneven and I had some trouble following the plot. The set itself was interesting in that it was built on a turntable but the set changes became rather tedious about three-quarters of the way though. Although there was one scene, a sort of synchronized swim worthy of an Esther Williams movie, that made excellent use of the turntable was one of my favorite parts of the show.

Friday was a normal workday; Saturday we had to get up even earlier to get to Oakland University's campus for TubaChristmas rehearsal. I brought a crochet project with me and worked on that all through the rehearsal and the concert. I was trying out a new idea (making concentric rings) and wanted to see if my idea would actually work. The other bed on today's page was a crochet-for-hire Christmas present for the friend of a friend.

In other news, I talked to my mom and she reports that she's doing great and feeling good. We have plans to get together at her house on Christmas Eve Day.
