I believe Sunday was the closest I've ever been to theater props. I've seen movie props at the Henry Ford, but those were either behind glass or roped off from the public. These I could touch and, in a couple of cases, did. The cupcake liners, paper plates, or Great Stuff did not require touch to determine their base material, but the spikes on the sea urchins and the ocean plants did. I really like the bright colors and the crafty methods employed to create the props.

The concert, which was the reason I was behind the stage in the first place, was really good too. Although if the band never plays Ticheli's Shenandoah again I won't miss it one tiny bit. I've gotten sick of songs on the radio in heavy rotation but I think this is the first time I've had that reaction to music performed live. For me, the highlight of the concert was John Mackey's Foundry. I absolutely loved that piece and I think the only thing I like better is experiencing a Kodo Drummers performance. I love the way the sound waves thump the audience and hope to experience that again soon. As for Sunday's performance, the other standout was Camille Saint-Saen's Pas Redoublé.

In knitting news, I finished my second Sneaky Sheep cowl. This was a bonus cowl, not destined for any particular person and not really a part of the Sneaky Sheep exchange. But I bought enough yarn for two cowls and I had so much fun creating the first pattern I wanted to make another and offer two patterns to the guild for its pattern book. The exchange takes place on April 11th so it won't be long until I can show you the results of my labor.
