Unrelated commentary and Memorial Day

jebra and I spent Saturday and Sunday cleaning the pond. It went better than I expected, in no small part due to mbumby's assistance. For one thing, she saved me from having to climb out of the water every time I had to dump a bucket of decayed leaves and/or silty water. As it is, I hurt but not nearly as much as I expected.

Tomorrow we're driving to Byron for the Memorial Day parade and family potluck. We should be home by early evening, with enough daylight to turn on the pond's pump and make sure everything is working right before we let it run unattended.
