Well, crap.

Maddie's J reports:

Surgery is over. The lump was cancerous but still don't know what kind. Since they do not know they removed the lobe. They also sampled the other lymph nodes outside the lobe to make sure it was not trying to spread.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Keep your hopes up, though, because some kinds of cancer are much more treatable than others. Also, even when cancer can't be actually cured, there are many new drugs that treat the symptoms which can extend life as well. So, give my best to Maddie, and hang in there.
