[livejournal.com profile] jebra went off to work Anthrocon 20 in Pittsburgh over the long 4th of July weekend. He left on Wednesday, so he also took two vacation days. I stayed here and worked at work and then worked on more crochet cat beds while he was gone. I finished six, so that was pretty good. I also went to SEMGS on Saturday and ate and ate and ate. Our friends, particularly Maria, Mike, and Steve are wonderful cooks, not to mention Tegan and Kevin make great ice cream. The theme was Asian, so among the other dishes we had chicken satay with a peanut sauce, green tea ice cream, sweet red bean ice cream and a giant can of Asahi Super Dry. I don't know what Maria made is called, but it was delicious and her little propane burner thingabob with the tiny flat wok-like thing on top was amazing too. I brought yarn with me and worked on another cat bed while I was there but if I'd had my brain about me I'd have taken a photo or three of her cooking.

The car on today's scrapbook page was parked across the street from my house. Muscle cars are starting to be the norm in my neighborhood. Our cars longer fit in. Even ones that aren't sports cars are newer than ours, not to mention clean and shiny. Our Park Avenues are starting to rust and paint job on the Maroon one has pretty much failed. I was looking at it from the driveway a day or two ago and though it was developing a bald spot on the roof.
